Xerox Releases Statement on Scanner Problems

Xerox recently released a statement, claiming some of its scanners can alter numbers in documents, even at the highest resolution setting. Blaming the problem on an unsolved software bug, Xerox listed affected machines.

Rick Dastin, President of Xerox’s Office and Solutions Business Group, said, “We apologize for any confusion that came from our prior communications.” However, Dastin stated that routine documents should still be reproduced perfectly. He explained the problems will come up with certain documents, “which include documents with small fonts, those scanned multiple times and hard to read.”

Before releasing the statement, Xerox assured customers that scanners “would alter documents only if the factory settings were changed to a lower resolution.”
