Xerox Names Kurt Schmelz President of Combined Org

Kurt Schmelz (pictured) has been appointed president of the newly-formed U.S. Channel Group (USCG) within Xerox’s Channel Partner Operations. The group integrates two existing organizations (North American Agent Operations and the United States Solutions Partners) to provide a more holistic approach to business decisions that impact partners.

According to Schmelz, USCG “will allow Xerox to grow the business through indirect channels, while investing in infrastructure, tools, training, programs and people. This is being done so partners can expand their sources of profitable revenue by connecting Xerox technologies and services to their unique solution to simplify how work gets done.”

Schmelz joined USCG from Global Imaging Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox, where he was president of ESI since 2006. Schmelz joined Global Imaging Systems in 2001 and served in various senior leadership roles, including president of Information Solutions Group, senior vice president and general manager of the Information Solutions Group and vice president of Sales.

Prior to joining Global Imaging Systems, Schmelz worked for GE Capital ITS, a $10B global IT solutions provider, serving in multiple senior leadership roles including vice president Sales, regional vice president, and vice president and general manager of Comstor, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE and a distributor of IT Networking products and services.

Kurt and his wife Diane reside in the Portland, Ore. area, while their two sons attend college in Virginia.
