Women’s Club Collecting Toiletries for Printer Cartridges for Recycling

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Club of the Denville-Rockaway Area is collecting items to be sent to the troops through the Adopt-a-Platoon and Operation Jersey Cares programs.

As an ongoing recycling project, the club is also collecting used inkjet & toner cartridges (all sizes) used eyeglasses and cell phones.

Club members will be collecting personalized Valentine cards and requested items outside the Foodtown, Route 53, Denville between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19.

The Valentine cards and supplies may also be dropped off at the Rockaway Township library and SmartWorld Coffee, on Broadway, in Denville through Jan. 19.

Requested items include: travel size shampoo, lotion, body wash, lip balm, toothbrushes, dental floss, soap, deodorant, sun block, quart size Ziploc bags, combs, facial cleaners, hand sanitizers, baby wipes, bug spray, tissue packs and eye drops.

The following businesses are participating in our collection and the items can be dropped off at:

  • Boonton: Union Center National bank, Ely Place & the Boulevard.
  • Denville: Restyle & Renew; 27 E. Main St, PostNet & investor’s Bank, both located on Route 53, SmartWorld Coffee & Provident Bank, both located on Broadway
  • Rockaway: Cartridge World, located on route 46 East.

All of the eyeglasses will be donated to New Eyes for the needy and the cartridges and cell phones will be recycled for cash back. All proceeds will be donated to local charities.
