Toshiba Tec Reports Sales and Profit Growth in FY 2022

According to Toshiba Tec, its sales increased 15% year-over-year in the fiscal year of 2022, while operating profit increased 39% year-over-year.

Toshiba Tec claims it is the second consecutive fiscal year the company reporting sales and profit growth since Covid-19.

Some highlights include:

• Net sales turned out to be JPY￥8 billion (US$ 3.75 billion), JPY￥65.5 billion (US$ 481.3million) more than that of fiscal year 2021
• Operating profit increased JPY￥5 billion (US$ 33.1 million) to JPY￥16.1 billion (US$118.3 million)
• Ordinary profit turned out to be JPY￥1 billion (US$ 96.2 million), JPY￥3.0 billion (US$ 22.0 million) more than that of the fiscal year 2021

In the second half of fiscal year 2022, net sales turned out to be JPY￥266.9 billion (US$ 1.96 billion), JPY￥23.0 billion (US$169.0 million) more than that of the first half of fiscal year 2022. Operating profit turned out to be JPY￥10.1 billion (US$74.2 million) in the second half of fiscal year 2022, JPY￥4.1 billion (US$30.1 million) more than that of the first half.

By segment, the Retail Solutions Business Group net sales were JPY￥297.0 billion (US$ 2.2 billion) in the fiscal year 2022, JPY￥30.0 billion (US$ 220.4 million) more than that of the fiscal year 2021. The operating profit of the Retail Solutions Business Group turned out to be JPY￥9.2 billion (US$ 67.6 million) in the fiscal year 2022, JPY￥1.4 billion (US$ 10.3 million)less than that of the fiscal year 2021.

The Workplace Solutions Business Group net sales turned out to be JPY￥217.7 billion (US$ 1.6 billion) in the fiscal year 2022, JPY￥35.5 billion (US$ 261.0 million) more than that of the fiscal year 2021. Operating profit turned out to be JPY￥6.9 billion (US$ 50.7 million), JPY￥5.9 billion (US$43.4 million) more than that of the fiscal year 2021.
