Toshiba Moves On With New Leadership

In order to step out of the shadows of last year’s accounting scandal, Toshiba has nominated Satoshi Tsunakawa to be its next CEO.

Sixty-year-old Tsunakawa is the former head of the medical equipment division and is currently a senior executive vice president. He is credited for having increased earnings at the medical equipment unit. More importantly, he is not embroiled in the scandal.

According to TonerNews and The Financial Express, the company expects the change will put the scandal behind them and allow Toshiba to move on.

Other changes in leadership include: current CEO Masashi Muromachi to become a special adviser, and Senior Executive Vice President Shigenori Shiga as chairman.
