Staples: One Step Closer to Transaction

 Staples recently obtained regulatory approval from the Chinese government in regards to Staples’ Office Depot deal. This has encouraged Staples to continue its work with other regulatory agencies, such as those in the United States, Canada, Australia and the European Union, and they are hoping to complete the transaction by the end of the year.

A week earlier, the New Zealand authorities granted its support to the completion of the transaction.

In February, Staples announced its plan to buy Office Depot with US$6.3 billion.
