Sharp Completes Acquisition of Synapse Innovation

Sharp Corporation announced that it has completed the acquisition of all shares of Synapse Innovation Inc., making the Osaka-based firm a wholly owned subsidiary. The move is intended to strengthen Sharp’s capabilities in ERP and accelerate the development of AI and digital transformation driven services.

Synapse Innovation specializes in ERP systems that centrally manage core business operations such as production, logistics, and sales. The company is particularly strong in ERP platforms for production and sales management, and provides end-to-end support from system implementation to ongoing operations, contributing to digital transformation efforts across a wide range of industries.

With the acquisition, Sharp plans to enhance its solution proposals in the office sector by combining Synapse’s ERP services with its existing office equipment, including multifunction printers. This integration is expected to enable unified data management across back-office functions such as procurement, order processing, accounting, and inventory management, while also improving operational efficiency through comprehensive support from consulting to post-deployment services.

Looking ahead, Sharp intends to strengthen cross-selling opportunities by leveraging both companies’ product portfolios, customer bases, and sales channels. It will also utilize its global sales and support network, built through its long-standing multifunction printer business, to expand operations internationally.

Additionally, the company aims to develop new solutions addressing social challenges such as labor shortages and energy efficiency by incorporating advanced technologies, including physical AI and quantum annealing.
