U.S. office supplier Staples Inc.(Staples), which was taken private by Sycamore Partners last year, has named Coca-Cola’s North American President, Sandy Douglas as its new CEO.
Douglas will replace Shira Goodman starting on April 2 after spending nearly 30 years at Coca-Cola.
John Lederer, executive chairman of Staples’ delivery business, said in a letter to employees, “I know I speak for all our associates in acknowledging and thanking Shira for her years of dedicated leadership and wishing her the best in all future endeavors.”
Sycamore Partners, a private-equity firm, bought Staples in September 2017 for about US$6.9 billion and has since split the company into three divisions focusing on U.S. retail, Canadian retail and a delivery business that serves big corporate and government customers.
