Ricoh’s Profit Goes up 47.7% in Q1

Ricoh,Q1,financial report,2017Ricoh has released its financial situations of the first quarter (from April 1 to June 30) in the fiscal year of 2017.

According to Ricoh, its total sales in Q1 of fiscal year 2017 were JP¥492,540 million (US$4.47 billion), marking a year-over-year(YOY) increase of JP¥4,834 million (US$43.83 million). The company’s sales within Japan during this period had increased by 4.3% to JP¥186.7 billion (US$1.69 billion). However, it’s overseas sales during this period had experienced a drop of 0.9% to JP¥305.8 billion (US$2.77 billion).

Ricoh’s profit during Q1 of fiscal year 2017 was JP¥12,218 million (US$0.11 billion), seeing a YOY elevation of 47.7% to JP¥5,831 million (US$52.87 million).

In Ricoh’s Office Printing segment, its sales during Q1 was JP¥284.6 billion (US$2.58 billion), reducing 2.8% in comparison with the same period of last fiscal year. However, its MFP sales had decreased in both domestic and overseas market during this period. Ricoh reveals that due to the enhancement of profitability and the company’s structural reform, its operating profit in the Office Printing segment had increased 10.9% to JP¥31.3 billion (US$0.28 billion). The sales of Office Service segment in Ricoh had experienced a YOY decrease of 5.9% to JP¥98.4 billion (US$0.89 billion) in Q1.

Ricoh expects to obtain the sales of JP¥2,000 billion (US$18.13 billion) at the end of fiscal year 2017(Mar. 31, 2018).
