Office Depot Announced Layoffs in US

Office Depot will cut about 140 employees from its customer service center in Bristol, Virginia. According to WCYB, Office Depot revealed that the reduction in force, which will start in May, comes as a result of its merger with Office Max.

However, the company said workers can “apply for work-from-home positions with a third-party company, or positions at other Office Depot locations.”

In February, Recycling Times reported Staples’ acquisition of Office Depot at a cost of $6.3 billion USD, which includes all of the outstanding shares of Office Depot. Read more about it in the February Issue of Recycling Times magazine or listen to Cartridge World’s comments on the issue on inTouch TV News.
