Canon Expands A4 imageCLASS Line Refresh with More Models Designed for SMBs

Canon U.S.A. rolled out new A4 monochrome, desktop imageCLASS printers and MFPs that complete its refresh of its imageCLASS black-and-white lineup, which began last month (see here), and which are designed for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs), with printing on up to 8.5″ x14″ media.

The new models consist of two MFPs and two single-function printers (SFPs), and start at $199.

imageCLASS MF426dw and MF424dw

The new imageCLASS MF426dw and MF424dw MFPs print at up to 40 ppm, and can be equipped with an an extra paper tray for a 900-sheet maximum paper capacity. Minimally advertised pricing is $449 and $349, respectively.

A five-inch color touchscreen with smartphone-like usability can be customized by a device administrator to simplify daily tasks through Canon’s device platform, Application Library.

Canon’s Application Library includes these apps:

  • Print Template: print using a defined template
  • Standby Slide: display file content as a slide
  • Scan to Preset Destination: scan a document and send it to a registered destination
  • ID Card Copy (Simple): Simple version of ID card copy
  • Display “Consumables Information”
  • Copy (Eco): Save paper when producing large copy jobs with automatic duplexing
  • Copy (Bleed-Reduce): Reduce bleed-through when copying on thin paper.

Both of the new imageCLASS MFPs are supported by a standard three-year warranty and U.S.-based support.

Supporting Canon’s Office of the Future platform, and understanding that today’s employees are more routinely working remotely, the MFPs provide mobile solutions for both print and scan. Users can leverage the Wi-Fi direct function to create a wireless hotspot from the MFP to establish direct connection to mobile devices, without the need for an external router. Users can also scan and convert documents into searchable digital files through a 50-sheet single-pass duplex document feeder.

Both models are the same, except that the flagship imageCLASS MF426dw features an Adobe PostScript 2 print driver.
