Konica Minolta to Produce MFP Consumables in Malaysia

Konica Minolta announced Konica Minolta Business Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd (KMMY), located in Malacca City, Malaysia, has been founded. The copmpany says the new subsidiary will primarily manufacture consumables for MFPs (multi-functional peripherals) and start operation in October 2014.

As was revealed, KMMY will use the facilities and buildings of Konica Minolta’s former Malaysian factory that manufactured glass substrates for HDDs. Also, it will introduce solution services, such as ICT services and document management system.

Konica Minolta notes, “The establishment of KMMY is driven by the company’s strong commitment to meeting these increasing needs for the production of consumables and functional parts of the bizhub-series printers.” The company believes “the new manufacturing site will help Konica Minolta address risks with flexibility and build on its capabilities with improvement in business continuity”.
