Five New Xerox Mobile-Printing Solutions Now Available

Xerox has released five new tools for mobile printing, including mobile-printing solutions for Xerox-only and non-Xerox printers and MFPs, as well as a hardware solution that adds wireless and NFC mobile printing to legacy devices.

Xerox Mobile Print Cloud v3.0 and @PrintByXerox

Xerox’s Xerox Mobile Print Cloud v3.0 now includes “@PrintByXerox,” which enables secure mobile printing from any Xerox network-connected MFP.

With the tool, the user submits their print file to a designated email address, and then can retrieve their file for printing at an enabled Xerox MFP.

For instance, if the user is spending the day at corporate headquarters and needs to print a document, this app lets them email it to the dedicated email address (such as companyname@printbyxerox.com) from their mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), and securely release the job at the MFP nearest to where they’re working for printing.

Key features include:

  • Print all popular document formats, including Microsoft Office Suite and PDF, without losing document formatting.
  • Provides a Mobile App or simple email submission.
  • IT controls how they deploy the solution: they can manage it themselves or let Xerox manage it. IT can for instance, control when each document releases to the printer, and manage allow/block listings to ensure users have the correct access.
  • Customer can choose the cloud-based setup for greater control, or choose an on-site setup that installs behind their company firewall.

The Xerox Mobile Print Cloud runs on Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform open-development platform. It’s compatible with nearly all Xerox and other-brand printers and MFPs using Xerox Global Print Driver technology.

Xerox Mobile Print Solution

Xerox Mobile Print Solution lets workers print from their mobile device to any networked printer, no matter the manufacturer. It’s available on premise or in the cloud, and integrates with Apple AirPrint.

Other key features include:

  • Print all popular document formats, including Microsoft Office Suite and PDF, without losing document formatting.
  • Choose between a Mobile App or simple email submission.
  • IT managers and administrators no longer need to manage unique drivers for various print devices – print from any mobile device, to any printer, regardless of brand.
  • Customers can deploy the solution, or Xerox can manage it for them.
  • IT can control when each document releases to the printer, and manage allow/block listings to ensure users have the correct access.
  • Customers can choose between either a cloud-based  setup for greater control, or opt for an on-site setup that installs behind their company firewall.

Wireless Print Solutions Adapter

Xerox Wireless Print Solutions Adapter is a hardware device that adds wireless and mobile-printing capabilities to legacy printers and MFPs that don’t have those capabilities built-in. This pocket-sized adapter sits next to the device and integrates with Google Cloud Print, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC (Near Field Communication) tap-to-pair and print, and Apple AirPrint.

The Wireless Print Solutions Adapter will be available by the end of December.

Xerox Mobile Link App

Xerox’s Mobile Link App now supports Android and Apple iOS devices, and adds more cloud capabilities. For instance, a sales professional can scan or take a photo of invoices from their mobile device and automatically send it to the accounts-receivable department’s Microsoft SharePoint site, file a copy in their DropBox account, and email it to their manager, all at the same time.

The Xerox Mobile Link App (downloadable at Google Play and Apple App Store) will be available at the end of December.

Xerox PrintSafe Software

Xerox’s new PrintSafe Software provides authentication security for MFPs. The firm notes that, according to market-research firm Quocirca, 63 percent of businesses surveyed admit to experiencing one or more print-related data breaches. PrintSafe Software works with most industry-standard card readers, and runs on both Xerox and non-Xerox devices. It’s used to manage user access to MFPs, and includes the ability to print anywhere at any time to any MFP in a customer network.
