Fake Cartridges Dealer Gang Destroyed

Police have smashed an Asian gang who sold counterfeit ink and toner cartridges worth Dh35 million (US$9.5 million) in Ras al-Khaimah.

Ras al-Khaimah, also known a RAK, is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates.

According to Gulf News, the chief of RAK Police received information that the gang rented a villa in a residential area to conduct their illegal business. They dealt in counterfeit products of well-known brands intended for sale in the UAE.

RAK Police investigated the case and successfully conducted raids and caught those suspects red-handed. Three Chinese suspects have been arrested and police have started criminal proceedings. A warehouse for storing the fake products in other emirates were also found.

The Director of the Criminal Investigations Department of the RAK Police—Major Mohammad Abdullah Al Qasimi said, “The tools used in the counterfeit process, along with the duplicate products were seized. The suspects admitted to the crime. They told police that they rented the villa to carry out their illegal activity.”
