Epson Australia Launches Expression Photo XP-980 Printer

Epson Australia has introduced the Expression Photo XP-980, a wireless colour all-in-one printer designed for households, hobbyists and creative users seeking high-quality photo printing in a compact desktop device following the launch of the same model in the US earlier this year.

The new model combines photo printing, scanning and copying functions, while supporting borderless printing up to A3+ (11 x 17 inches). Equipped with Epson’s six-colour Claria Photo HD ink system, the printer is designed to produce vibrant images with smooth tonal gradations for photographs, artwork, craft projects and other creative applications.

The XP-980 is capable of printing a borderless 4 x 6-inch photo in as little as 11 seconds and offers a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi. Its compact design incorporates a flatbed scanner and copier, making it suitable for home offices, creative workspaces and family environments.

For ease of use, the printer features a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen with an Easy Mode interface, along with built-in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity for wireless printing from computers and compatible mobile devices. It also works with the Epson Smart Panel and Creative Print mobile apps, enabling remote printer management and creative photo printing from smartphones and tablets.

The XP-980 includes separate paper trays for plain and photo paper, as well as a rear specialty media feed to accommodate thicker paper stocks and creative media.

According to Epson Australia, the printer is intended for users who regularly produce photo prints, school projects, posters, greeting cards and other personalised creative materials at home.

The Expression Photo XP-980 is available in Australia through Epson Australia and authorised retailers with a recommended retail price of A$399.
