$90,000 of Cartridges Sent Safety Director to Probation

A public safety director purchased more than $90,000 dollars of printer ink cartridges that the entire county may never use.

According to citizensvoice.com, former Wyoming County Public Safety Director Debra Raimondi has been found guilty of buying more than $90,000 dollars worth of printer cartridges to scalp for cash-back gift cards.

Jeff Porter, the county’s current Safety Director, told the police that the office he took over in 2014 was filled with ink cartridges. A two-year investigation was thus conducted on Debra Raimondi, the former director, according to court records.

Between 2009 to 2013, Raimondi ordered $92,794.46 worth of ink cartridges, for which Raimondi received 4% cash back in the form of Wal-Mart gift cards.

The Public Safety center only has one printer which exhausts one cartridge tops for a year. The center’s inventory, however, listed 1,252 ink cartridges.

The court has granted the former 911 director immediate sentencing of 12 months probation, a $1,000 fine and $750 in restitution to the county.

Turns out over-shopping cartridges for personal gain was not the only crime Raimondi has committed. She was also sentenced to another 12 months’ probation and $1,000 fine for taping conversations without the participants’ knowledge in last November.
