Canon Sues Pelikan Companies in Germany

Canon Sues Pelikan Companies in GermanyCanon has filed a patent infringement complaint against “ARMOR SA” , “ARTECH GmbH” , the “Pelikan Vertriebsgesellschaft mbh & Co. KG” and other Pelikan companies before the District Court of Düsseldorf. The OEM claimed those companies infringed the German portion of its European patent 2 087 407.

According to the OEM, those companies infringed its patent by offering and selling certain toner cartridges for Hewlett-Packard laser beam printers. In addition, the patent relates to, “inter alia, a drum unit to be used in a process cartridge”. The OEM is seeking injunctive relief and damages.

Again, Canon declared it “respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals and expects others to similarly respect Canon’s intellectual property rights.” Also, the OEM noted it “remains committed to pursuing legal enforcement against those who do not respect Canon’s intellectual property.”
