500 Grams Films to Enter Mass Production

A French midmarket company will conduct the industrial production of a new generation of photovoltaic material, which can be used for various applications.

According to ARMOR, this material is called ASCA©. It is flexible, light and is made with no rare metals. It can produce electricity when it is exposed to different kinds of lights on its surface.

Owed to the company’s expertise in the coating of thermal transfer ribbons for bar-code printing, ARMOR has managed to produce this film in large quantities. The company has invested €40 million and spent 6 years in this project.

To realize this project, ARMOR has also partnered with many leading researchers, industrial centers and senior experts around the world.

The applications of the first ASCA© will gradually be disclosed in 2017, and the company’s capacity for ASCA© is 1 million m² per year.

This innovation emerged during an energy efficient manufacturing process, while silicon or any toxic resources haven’t been used. It also shows ARMOR’s focus is on the whole life cycle of its products.
