Epson Launches 3 New A3 Document Scanners

Epson Sales Japan announced the release of three new A3 network-compatible document scanners—DS-71000WN, DS-61000WN, and DS-51000WN—scheduled for launch on May 28, 2026.

The new models follow the DS-70000, DS-60000, and DS-50000 series. They introduce standard network connectivity and updated flatbed scanning capabilities. The devices also include a standalone scanning function that allows operation without a connected computer, a feature not previously available in Epson’s A3 document scanners.

The scanners support both wired and wireless LAN connections, enabling shared use across multiple computers and direct operation from smart devices. Users can send scanned data directly to designated destinations over a network without routing through a PC.

Enhancements to flatbed scanning include automatic detection of document size, including non-standard formats, and the ability to scan multiple small documents simultaneously, saving each as separate pages. A book scanning mode allows continuous scanning with the cover open, which is intended to facilitate digitization of bound materials.

The DS-71000WN model additionally supports Epson’s Open Platform, enabling integration with external software and authentication systems. It is compatible with Epson Print Admin Serverless and Epson Print Admin, allowing centralized user authentication and access control across devices. These features are designed to support secure document handling and streamline workflow processes in organizational environments.

The new scanners are positioned for use in sectors that handle large volumes of A3 documents, such as government, healthcare, finance, and education.
