Domino Printing Cooperates with German Brewery Erdinger
Domino Printing Sciences has deployed its Dx1060i 100W CO₂ laser coding system at Erdinger, a large-scale brewery in Germany, marking a further development in the company’s high-power laser solutions for high-speed beverage production environments.

The installation involves Domino’s Dx1060i laser coder operating on bottling lines running at speeds of up to 60,000 bottles per hour. The system is used to apply production and traceability information to metallised labels and is fully integrated with a central enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. According to Domino, the solution was designed to meet increasing demands for more complex coding formats while maintaining code quality and line efficiency.
The Dx1060i replaces an earlier 60-watt laser system and provides additional power and beam control to support three-line codes required for export markets. Domino handled the system integration directly, including ERP connectivity and line installation, without third-party involvement. The company said the upgrade was completed with minimal disruption to production.
Domino reported that the higher-power laser has delivered consistent code quality while reducing waste and unplanned downtime, factors that are critical in high-throughput filling operations. Remote diagnostics and support were also incorporated into the deployment to enable faster issue resolution.
The Dx1060i is part of Domino’s i-Techx range of laser coding systems, which combines higher output power with updated electronics and user interface design. The platform is intended to support future regulatory and operational requirements in automated manufacturing environments.
Frauke Schroeder, Senior Product Manager for Laser at Domino, said the project demonstrated the Dx1060i’s ability to operate reliably in demanding, high-speed conditions and highlighted the system’s scalability for similar beverage manufacturing applications.
