Winners of Quality Printing Contest Announced by Business Inform

Fed up with the poor quality, cheap printer cartridges being sold into Russia, mainly from China, steps are being taken to reverse the trend.

Information Agency “Business-Inform” (Russia) announced four winners of their ‘Open Quality Printing Contest’ at the RemaxWorld Summit held in Zhuhai China: Dataproducts (Clover, USA), G&G (NineStar, China), Retech (Retech Tech., China), Tonex (Tonex, Russia).

The First Stage of the quality printing contest was performed by the Russian Information Agency Business-Inform between July 1 and September 30, 2019. The evaluation of quality was performed in accordance with the new Russian method of standardized testing LEM 1.01.19, certified in Russia (registration # РОСС RU. 32155.04ЛЭМ0) and recommended by AQCMS (The Association of Quality Cartridge Manufacturers and Suppliers) for performing comparative research on Russian territory.

37 brands took part in the first stage of the contest from which 16 brands were found to have a minimal amount of defects in the set of printouts presented). The nominees of the First Stage were: MSE, Dataproducts, freecolor, Static Control, Kodak, Integral, G&G, Retech, Solnce, HYB, Cactus, Profiline, UniTon, Hi-Black, 7Q, Tonex.

On October 18, 2019, during RemaxWorld Summit 2019 (China, Zhuhai) a ceremony took place to award winners and nominees with diplomas and winner-prizes.

Following the ceremony, “Business-Inform” announced the beginning of the second stage of the contest dedicated to evaluating all aspects of cartridge printing quality. This will also take into consideration the quality of printouts made by cartridges (from the first to the last). The expertise will be performed according to the Russian method of standardized testing, LEM 2.01.19, certified in Russia (registration # РОСС RU. 32155.04ЛЭМ0). The object of the study during the Second Stage is set to be HP CF226X cartridge.

The Russian method of testing LEM 2.01.19 has been certified in Russia and is the only legal method for certifying both remanufactured and/or new-build compatible laser cartridges for the quality mark of office printing LEM.
