Seiko Epson unveils continuous ink inkjet printers in Taiwan

Seiko Epson has unveiled three continuous ink inkjet MFPs, Epson L5190, L5196 and L3116, and a continuous ink inkjet printer, Epson L1110, in Taiwan.

L5190 and L5196 have printing, photocopying, scanning and fax functions with a recommended retail price of NT$7,490 (US$243) for each, while L3116 has printing, photocopying and scanning functions and is priced at NT$4,490. The recommended retail price for L1110 is NT$3,990, Epson Taiwan said.

The four models feature low average cost per page of NT$0.07 for black printing and that of NT$0.19 for color printing, a black printing speed of 10ipm (image per minute) and a color printing speed of 5ipm as well as service life of 30,000 pages. A bottle of black ink can be used to print 4,500 pages and a bottle of color ink 7,500 pages.

During the first three quarters of 2018, Seiko Epson had a market share of 57% for inkjet MFPs and 75% for continuous ink inkjet models in Taiwan, Epson Taiwan cited IDC as indicating.
