Pantum Expects Return to Profit in First Half of 2026

Pantum Technology expects to return to profitability in the first half of 2026, according to its latest earnings forecast, driven by improved overall performance despite continued weakness in its printer business.

The company said it expects net profit attributable to shareholders of CNY 75 million–95 million (USD 11.08 million– 14.04 million) for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with a net loss of CNY 311.77 million (USD 46.06 million) in the same period a year earlier.

The printer business generated revenue of approximately CNY1.725 billion (USD 254.89 million) in the first half of 2026, down about 25% year over year, while net profit fell about 55% to approximately CNY 147 million (USD 21.72 million).

The company attributed the decline primarily to ongoing security and reliability certification testing for its main printer controller chips, which has delayed the recovery of shipment schedules in China’s government-backed Xinchuang market.

Overall printer sales declined about 5% from a year earlier during the reporting period. However, domestic commercial printer sales rose about 1%, overseas sales increased about 31%, and A3 printer sales climbed about 34%.

In the second quarter alone, printer business revenue reached approximately CNY 880 million (USD 130.03 million), up about 4% from the previous quarter, while net profit declined about 21% sequentially to around CNY 65 million (USD 9.61 million). Overall printer shipments were broadly flat compared with the first quarter.

Pantum’s aftermarket printing consumables business recorded first-half revenue of approximately CNY 2.507 billion (USD 370.46 million), down about 7% year over year. Net profit from the segment increased about 17% to approximately CNY 32 million (USD 4.73 million), while total consumables sales volume rose about 20% compared with the same period last year.
