Epson launches printers for low-cost mono output

Epson Australia has launched two new printers — the ET-M1100 and the ET M1120 — that can each print 6000 pages in black at a cost of less than half a cent per page.
The EcoTank high-volume ink tank printers both come with enough ink to print 5000 pages and replacement ink bottles cost $24.99 – which is sufficient for another 6000 pages, the company claimed in a statement.

Epson Australia’s consumer division general manager for sales and marketing, Bruce Bealby, said, “The market for high-capacity ink tank printers has been growing at a rapid rate in Australia over the last few years.

What Mono EcoTank does is meet the needs of a sizeable section of the market that includes individuals, families, small businesses and home offices who want to print large volumes in black and white at an incredibly low cost per page.
“To put it another way, with EcoTank Mono you can print over 16 pages a day every day, for 365 days a year for less than half a cent a page before you need to purchase more ink and when you do it’ll only cost you $24.99.”
He added, “With the EcoTank ET-M1120, users can also easily print from their tablet or smartphone using Epson Connect as this supports Android 4.1 and later, iPad and iPhone, Chromebook, Fire-OS, Mac, and Windows devices, with minimal set-up required.”

The statement said both printers had a compact form factor, printed at 15 pages per minute at a resolution of 360×360 and had 150-page paper trays.

The ET-M1100 and ET M1120 are available at retail outlets for $339 and $349 respectively.
