HP Intros New Scitex Inks, Latex Media Options
On April 5, at ISA’s International Sign Expo, HP announced its new Scitex inks and Latex media options for large format digital printing service providers (PSPs). HP will offer its Scitex FB7600/FB7500 Enhanced Color Pack worldwide starting on May 1, 2013. This color set can be used in the HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press. With the newest Orange and Light Black Scitex Inks, the color pack can provide six, seven, or eight color configurations. The Orange Scitex Ink is useful in providing true-to-life skin tones and easier color matching. The Light Black Scitex ink enables users to print better gray solids and improve neutrality.
Dan Kimmerly, Graphics Director with KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group, who has been using the new color set, claimed, “With the Enhanced Color Pack, our digital color capabilities have achieved a new level in quality with the ability to print true oranges and grays. Since the installation, KDM has been awarded new business solely because we can now match orange brand colors with digital, with one client even commenting that a sample printed using the new HP FB225 Orange Scitex Ink was the best digitally printed orange they have ever seen.”
Separately, HP has partnered with Brand Management Group (BMG). This company will source, market, and distribute a select number of HP Sign and Display media for latex inks. The business partnership between HP and BMG was formed to improve distribution coverage, product availability and service and support for inkjet media specific to HP Designjet L-series and HP Scitex LX-series printers.
According to Xavier Garcia, HP’s Vice President and General Manager, for the Sign and Display Business, “To remain competitive, sign and display, PSPs are constantly looking for ways to evolve their businesses from a single core specialty to producing a variety of applications under one roof. These application enhancements, new media options and alliances allow our customers to confidently expand into new markets, helping them strategically grow their service offerings.”
