Every Visitor a Serious Buyer

105 big buyers of imaging supplies were invited to attend the first of four VIP Expos being held in Latin America at the Palais Rouge in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Everyone attended with others “knocking on the door” and seeking entry on June 13, 2023. All visitors have the capability to import products.

They came from Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay as well as Argentina. A few came from Brazil, even though the second event will be held there in Sao Paulo on Friday, June 16. They flew here because they heard some exhibitors had been unable to obtain visas to visit Brazil.

The unique one-day events are also being held in Bogota (Colombia) on June 20 and Mexico City (Mexico) on June 23 as well as in Brazil and Argentina. It includes a gala dinner at the end of the day where networking continued. Some buyers and suppliers used the next day to meet again privately to consolidate business dealings.

“It’s unbelievable to see so many serious buyers participating. It’s never happened before in this region,” said Gustavo Molinatti, who partnered with Comexposium Recycling Times (often known as RT Media) to deliver the event. “I have been running events in Latin America for 20 years and it is exciting to be involved in bringing people together like this.”

21 exhibitors, mainly from China, had a range of products on show including components such as chips as well as finished products. Other products for copiers and handheld printers were also on offer.

A similar VIP expo was held in Latin America in 2019 but the successful events had to be suspended during COVID.

348 buyers across Latin America have been selected and invited to attend one of the four events based on customs data revealing the value of shipments being imported by each company in each country.

During the gala dinner, that followed the trade show, awards were presented to three local businesses and individuals. Enrique Stura was presented the RT Diamond Pioneering Award for his dedicated support for the global imaging industry over thirty years. An Outstanding Services Award was presented to the family of the late Walter Guerra who was highly respected even by his competitors for his knowledge, technical skills, and his advocacy for quality. Mabel and Rosanna from Veneta Rosario were presented with the Best Supplier Award for their focus on the environment and the level of excellence in supplying their customers.

Three recipients, Ariel Abbate (Silog), Enzo Saporiti (Uninet) and Walter Di Maria (Fremover 3D) each won free hotel accommodation at the RemaxWorld Expo in the lucky draw prize. RemaxWorld is the world’s largest printer and imaging supplies event and will be held during October 12-14 in Zhuhai, China.
